Information We Collect
We may collect PII from research participants when necessary to administer and document research projects. This may include information needed to identify participants and process stipend payments (including full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address), as well as information required for record retention and audit purposes.
We may also make audio and/or video recordings of interviews, focus groups, and other research discussions when applicable.
How We Use Personal Information
We use PII solely for legitimate business and research-administration purposes, including:
- Administering and issuing participant stipends.
- Maintaining project records.
- Meeting record-retention and audit requirements.
- Managing and documenting research activities.
We do not use participant PII for unrelated marketing or commercial purposes.
How We Protect Personal Information
PII is stored locally on computers kept in a secure location and protected by passwords and other reasonable physical and administrative safeguards. We take reasonable measures to limit access to PII to authorized personnel who require it for legitimate business purposes.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, release, or share participant PII with third parties.
Retention and Destruction
PII is retained for seven (7) years after completion of the applicable research project to satisfy record-retention and potential audit requirements. At the end of the retention period, PII is securely destroyed.
Audio recordings of interviews, focus groups, and discussions are retained for twelve (12) months after completion of the applicable research project and are then securely destroyed.
Transcripts that have been properly deidentified and no longer contain PII are retained indefinitely for research, documentation, and recordkeeping purposes.
